Welcome to Calgary Japanese Festival Omatsuri
Now in its third year, the Calgary Japanese Festival Omatsuri presents a wide variety Japanese cultural activities, music, dance, food and merchandise. Families and children of all ages are invited to join us on Saturday, August 17 2013 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for a celebration of Japan, its people, and of the Japanese Canadian populations of Calgary and around the world!
“OMatsuri” is the Japanese term for a “traditional festival”. Visitors to the festival will be treated to authentic Japanese food and snacks, presentations of traditional music,
dance and song, dramatic re-enactments of classic Japanese fairy tales, martial arts demonstrations, and more!
There will be games for kids, galleries of local Japanese arts and crafts, and kiosks were you can purchase authentic Japanese goods. Many of the local Japanese Canadian community will be on hand to present and enjoy this festival of all things Japan.
Admission is $5.00 per person.
Kids under the age of 12 are free.
You can purchase tickets in order to access our food and snack booths and some of our games.
We will see you this summer for Calgary’s Omatsuri!
